2008 graduateCollege was (and still is) one of the best experiences in my life. I enjoyed the program at COTC so much! The smaller class sizes allowed us the opportunity to have one-on-one time with the teachers and really beneficial critiquing time with our fellow students. While in the program, critiques may seem a little stressful and at times, harsh, but in all actuality, I think they were one of the BIGGEST helps.
Kathleen wasn't kidding when she said to take advantage of having so many graphic designers all in one room, willing to help you and give you advice. Once you're out in the job market, people aren't so willing. I actually see quite a few students at my work getting projects printed out, especially around finals. It's nice to be able to see what projects the DMD program is up to and what new ideas are flowing.
On top of the obvious education that DMD brings to the table, I think the best thing I have learned while in the program is time management. It's not just for assignments, it's handy in "real-life" to! Whether you're planning out what order your projects need to be completed in or if you're trying to estimate how long it will take you to complete a project for an estimate for a client, time management and organization are key!
