Mary's many life experiences are reflected in the variety of media she uses to create her art. Her BFA in Fine Arts and BA in Art Therapy were earned over the course of a lifetime marked with Military Service, travel throughout Europe and the Eastern United States, and jobs ranging from ticket scalper to lava-rock carver to environmental activist.

Mary creates her art using any media necessary to birth the vision, and she employs skills including—but not limited to—drawing, painting, carving, sculpting, woodworking, metalsmithing, printmaking, assemblage, and collage. Since settling in Ohio thirteen years ago, Mary has taught privately and exhibited her award-winning art in Columbus, Zanesville, Hamilton, and Licking County.

To Mary, art is the ultimate human expression and she believes that all art starts with drawing. She transforms her perspective and experience by helping her students find the creative catalyst within them, as well as the technical skills needed to be productive artists.

Much of Mary's time is focused on things that inspire her: her family, music, reading, investigating the philosophies of other cultures, volunteering, green living, and generally questioning everything, while refusing to be homogenized by society.
